The official posts for the Mohican 100k were posted today at NUE Series website. Like we thought at the end I was in fact the last 100k finisher. There are about 25 DNF's so I guess a finishing time of just a little over 12 hours is something to be proud of. I special Thank you to Ryan O'Dell race promoter and great guy, Niner Bikes, RST Suspension, nunn and Kenda Tires and Tubes. But most of all...my beautiful fiance for putting up with me, her help and support! I love you Snaps.
Full story and photos to come.

Rain & Wild

Ride report from WheatGerm....Nine Spokejunkies gathered on a beautiful day at the Wilds. The trails were a little sloppy from the rains earlier in the day. OK, maybe a touch more than a little sloppy. We started at the North Country Campground and followed a superbly marked course by HWB/AOA, which were running the Muskingum Mayhem at the same time. The weather stayed dry until mile 8 or so when the clouds opened up. Rain was kinda of a relief and fun for a while...............
OK, story telling ain't woking. Here are some random thoughts from today's ride...
I am made of teflon.
Bleeder bled a little.
I remember names as well as Rigid spells.
Extra derailleur hangers are your friend.
If a tree falls in the woods, it does make a sound.
Fenders are also your friend.
There be eagles at the Wilds. At least it sure did look like an eagle.
That new wall section past Death Drop looks sweet. Can't wait until it dries out.
Heath is color blind. That gate is green, buddy. Not orange
A fun time was had by all.

First Ride
Better late then never. I was finally able to get out on the trails. Started out a little scared legs didn’t feel very fresh and my back was a bit on the tight side. My mind started wander how could this be I have been to way more spinning classes, stared running and lifting about 3 months earlier this year. Then the next thing I knew I was 4 miles and I felt FRESH. All and all I was able to get in about 14 miles of the driest single-track in the area. Tomorrow is a true test, group ride with the Smitty’s Team , this should be a good indicator of how Sunday’s race at Vultures Knob.
Stay tuned!

Kenda Tires & Tubes

So I go to the mail box and out I pull a large envelope from Kenda. It felt like just a new product catalogue. In it was the catalogue and a B&W letter with the Kenda Logo printed on. I had already made up my mind that it was going to say "Thank you for your application, but...". Turns out it started off with "Congratulations...". I have been selected to be part of the 2008 Kenda USA Rider Support Program. WOW and THANKS Kenda!
